Water safety is another important concern during the summer, and for anyone with young children, all it can take is a minute of distraction for a child to get away from the watchful gaze of Mom or Dad. The temptation of a glittering pool is hard to ignore, especially for infants and toddlers.
ISR otherwise known as Infant Swimming Resource is a chance for parents to gain peace of mind when their child is around a pool. With one of the leading causes of child death in the summer coming from swimming accidents, parents can be more progressive when protecting their child. Jan Orwick is a master instructor of the ISR technique and she sat down with host and mom, Mellisa Paul to discuss how ISR works, when to start, why this somewhat frightening concept is saving lives of infants and toddlers across the nation.
