The arraignment for Abraham Arroyo, the man accused of breaking into a woman's home and raping her, was continued to the end of the month.
The 21-year-old suspect did not enter a plea and was appointed a public defender in court Thursday morning.
Arroyo is suspected of breaking into the home of a 43-year-old woman who is confined to a wheelchair, taking her cellphone and then raping her Saturday around 1 a.m. Sacramento County sheriff's investigators said Arroyo left the woman's home on the 7400 block of Power Inn Road before crews arrived at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital by paramedics; deputies said she had visible injuries.
