Investigators are calling Thursday's crash where a toddler was ejected from a car a miraculous story of survival.
Authorities said the crash should serve as a reminder to make sure your child is properly secured in a car seat. The California Highway Patrol said Xavier Robinson, 25, was driving a Chevy Impala when another car side swiped him near Sunrise Boulevard and Highway 50.
His 3-year-old niece was strapped in a car seat that was ejected, flew through the air and got hung up on a fence.The child survived with just minor scratches.

The incident is still being investigated, but authorities said the car seat was not properly secured.
"Make sure you're checking that car seat every trip, every time, especially if you have people actually sitting in the back just to double check and insuring the seat belt is actually secured," CHP Officer Adrian Quintero said.
According to the CHP, more than 80 percent of car seats are not properly installed.
