LAS VEGAS - Sacramento's Chris Holdsworth defeated Davey Grant by a second round submission to become the men's Ultimate Fighter champion Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Holdsworth, who trains with Urijah Faber's Team Alpha Male in midtown Sacramento, won four straight fights on the UFC's reality show including Saturday's championship bout, earning a six-figured contract with the UFC.

In the main event, Stockton's Nate Diaz pulled off an impressive first round victory over Gray Maynard.

Diaz pounded Maynard with a flurry of punches to the face forcing the referee to stop the fight giving Diaz the victory by TKO.
