MODESTO, CA - It was anything but a simple trip to the grocery store for a 51-year-old Modesto woman Monday morning.

While unloading groceries from her SUV into her northeast Modesto home, two men robbed her at gunpoint.

"They found some money and fired a shot to intimidate her into telling where more money was," said her husband Arne.

Modesto police spokeswoman Heather Graves said the robbery started at 11 o'clock Monday morning when the men forced the woman into her home, and then into a closet while they grabbed things of value.

A purse, TV, computer, and cash were stolen during the heist, said police.  The men then fled the scene in the family's blue Toyota Highlander.

Arne said the men even discussed shooting his wife, while she was in the closet.

"One wanted to shoot her but the other guy said 'don't do that, don't do that'.   The other guy prevailed in not harming her."

Police described the suspected robbers as black men in their 20s. Both are approximately 6'2" tall and weigh about 180 pounds.
