SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Terrell Owens peeled off his bright red 49ers jacket to reveal a fitted sweater for the warm fall afternoon.
A trim physique and a message: Owens would have re-signed with San Francisco had the 49ers come calling last year when they added Randy Moss. Or even this past May when top 2012 wide receiver Michael Crabtree went down with a torn right Achilles tendon. Less than a month from turning 40, he still believes he can bring it, and he's not retiring yet.
Owens returned to Candlestick Park on Sunday to be the Niners' honorary captain as the stadium counts down the top-10 plays as part of its farewell season. It marked the six-time Pro Bowl wideout's first visit back since San Francisco traded a disgruntled Owens to Philadelphia after the 2003 season.
