STOCKTON, CA -It's never good to pass out in your car with the engine running. It's even worse when you have a treasure trove of illicit items with you.

Court documents filed in federal court last week say Antwane Burrise in Stockton did just that.

According to an affidavit filed by a U.S. Postal Inspector, a resident on Cathedral Circle called police about a man passed out in a car with the engine running. Stockton police approached the Mercedes CLS500 and found the driver intoxicated and unresponsive.

When police opened the car door, the driver slumped out of the car, revealing a handgun on the floor near his feet.

The affidavit said Stockton police ran the driver's prints and identified him as Burrise, a felon on searchable probation.

By the time officers finished searching his car, they had uncovered a cache of weapons, drugs and stolen goods:

  • 1 fully loaded AK-47
  • 1 Glock handgun with extended clip
  • 25 credit cards in the names of other people
  • 9 California driver's licenses with other names
  • Numerous bags of stolen mail
  • 2 laptop computers
  • 1 Apple desktop computer
  • 278 pills
  • 154 grams of marijuana
  • Several social security cards in other people's names

Burrise was arrested by Stockton police and will likely face numerous charges in San Joaquin County. He will also face federal charges for the stolen mail, which is being investigated by postal inspectors.
