GRIDLEY, CA - A vigilant man helped recover his neighbor's stolen property late Friday night.
The man called 911 around 11:21 p.m. and reported that he could hear breaking noises and flashing lights at his neighbor's home on Vernon Street, Butte County Sheriff's Sgt. Chris Nicodemus said.
The man also told authorities that several suspects walked from his neighbor's house to another home in the same area with, what looked like, stolen property.
When Gridley Briggs police officers and Butte County deputies arrived at the scene, they found evidence of a break in and burglary.
After surveying the house, authorities went to the nearby home that the suspects were said to be at. According to Nicodemus, at the home, three juveniles and an adult were found with stolen electronics and jewelry from the Vernon Street home.
Deputies arrested Eduardo Abina, 18; he was booked into the Butte County Jail for possession of stolen property, burglary and resisting arrest, Nicodemus said. Likewise, the three juveniles were taken into custody.
The stolen property were returned to the victims.
