SACRAMENTO, CA - Two Elk Grove residents were indicted by a Sacramento federal grand jury Thursday on conspiracy, possession and intent to distribute narcotics charges.
Farah Sarwar, 24, and Hussain Shahzad, 28, face a total of 17 charges in connection with an Aug. 21 search and seizure of nearly 90,000 pills at their home and a storage unit, according to U.S. Attorney spokesperson Lauren Horwood.
The pills recovered included Adderall, Vicodin, Oxycodone, Ritalin, Ambien, and Xanax, Horwood said.
The U.S. Attorney's Office did not provide specifics on what led law enforcement to suspect Sarwar and Shahzad.
If convicted of the charges, the pair could receive a maximum 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine, Horwood said.
