FRESNO COUNTY, CA - A single-engine plane bound for Sacramento crashed in the Sierra Thursday morning.
Searchers reported seeing the pilot of the Piper PA28 walking around the wreckage about one mile south of Brown Peak, said FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor. The pilot's condition was unknown.
McPherson said the pilot radioed air traffic control at approximately 10 a.m. that his the plane was showing low oil pressure and he was about 35 miles north-north-east of Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
The pilot was flying solo, said Gregor, and had departed from Fresno.
