STOCKTON, CA - A student fought off a man who grabbed her in a sexual manner at Delta College in Stockton Wednesday morning.
Delta College police Officer Jim Bock said the student was walking alone in the southeast stairwell on the second floor of the Cunningham Building when she was confronted at approximately 11:50 a.m. She told campus police a man came up behind her, grabbed her buttocks and fondled her breasts.
She said she fought him off and he ran.
The victim described the groper as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. She said he had a short, scruffy beard; bushy eyebrows and acne. He wore a dirty black pullover sweatshirt with a front pocket, tan cargo pants, and black Converse shoes with white laces. She described his teeth as dirty and he had body odor.
Campus police looked for the man but he had fled.
Bock said they were checking the building's security cameras to determine if there was an photo of the assailant.
This isn't the first time a student has been assaulted in a stairwell at the campus.
