SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police have arrested two suspects in the murder of a man whose body was found at an apartment Tuesday in midtown.
Jeremy Daniel McMahon, 31, was booked into custody on suspicion of murder, false imprisonment, torture and being a felon in possession of a firearm, while Michelle Okumura, 23, faces allegations of false imprisonment and torture, police said.
UPDATE: Criminal complaint
The victim, who authorities identified as Eric Solen Jackson, 22, was found at about 3 a.m. Tuesday in an apartment in the 1700 block of O Street. Police said they were called to the apartment by a neighbor who reported hearing loud bangs, glass breaking and possibly gunshots.
When officers arrived at the apartment they found the two suspects and Jackson, who had a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was declared dead at the scene.
The criminal complaint alleges McMahon shot Jackson. Okumura is alleged to have tortured Jackson with a "heated metal implement".
Police said the suspects and the victim knew each other. While they do not know the motive for the murder, it does not appear to be "a random act of violence," police said.
