Nintendo's 'Wii Party U' for Wii U.
In the video above, Nintendo of America's David Young presents the latest with Wii Party U, a new game coming to Wii U later this month.
With a focus on board game type activities and multi-player focused minigames, Wii Party U continues the experience found in the 2010 Wii game Wii Party but adds new functionality and features.
"You'll have the mode where you'll be able to play through a board game, but there's also some really fun minigames that are made possible by the introduction of Wii U gamepad," explained Young.
The title looks to be highly accessible, though the activities - at least those demonstrated - don't last too long before they're over with and it's time to play again.
"You know, Wii Party U has... it's, it's got a party for everyone in the family -- every kind of gamer can pick up and play," Young said. "You know, every kind of skill level. It's a kind of game that you can play with your kids, play with your parents; everybody can have a good time."
In addition to standard on-television play using the Wii U gamepad and Wii remotes, certain minigames are played exclusively on the gamepad's touchscreen. The game comes with a stand to allow the gamepad to sit flat on a tabletop so that two players can use it simultaneously.
"So, for the TV screen people can have a spectator view, but it can be played completely on the gamepad and the TV can be used for other things." pointed out Young.
Wii Party U is expected to have more than 80 different minigames and will be obtainable both at retail and via the Nintendo eShop.
The ESRB has rated the game "E for Everyone".
