A Roseville couple recently was arrested after police found four pounds of methamphetamine in a package that had been returned to the U.S. postal service.
Roseville police announced Wednesday that Lionel Shiloh Reyes, 34, was arrested last week on suspicion of possessing and transporting methamphetamine for sale, possession of illegal firearms and other related charges. His wife, Jaylene Duenas Reyes, 30, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy.
Police said the arrests came after they were contacted by the postal officials on Sept. 25 about a suspicious package.
"The package contained address abnormalities and other features that indicated the package contained illegal drugs," according to a police press release.
Detectives opened the package and found about four pounds of vacuum-packaged methamphetamine that they said has an estimated street value of $90,800 in California. Police said they identified Lionel and Jaylene Reyes as suspects in the investigation and searched their home, finding assault weapons, ammunition and items associated with drug sales.
