Drawing of lobby of proposed sports and entertainment venue for downtown Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Kings and city of Sacramento are asking potential new arena customers to rank the importance of features under consideration for the sports and entertainment complex in the Downtown Plaza.
A survey is posted on the Sacramento Kings website asking respondents to vote/rank arena design concepts ranging from the importance of incorporating green and sustainable construction concepts to traffic and parking solutions.
The survey will be online from Sept. 27 through Oct. 6, 2013.
Additionally, the arena planners will hold small group workshops with randomly selected survey respondents to meet with the Kings, city representatives and the project architect, AECOM. These focus groups will gather in-depth feedback on specific design considerations including input received from the survey.
The city will host an open house on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Tsakopoulos Library East Room (828 I Street) to educate the public on design issues and obtain additional community feedback. Check the city of Sacramento website as the date nears for more details.
Also, between Oct. 7 and Oct. 14, there will be information materials on the project and comment cards located in the Sacramento City Hall foyer, 915 I Street. The comment cards will be included with the information received from the online survey.
The target date for completion of the arena is in time for the 2016-17 NBA season.
