WOODLAND, Calif. - Police officers apprehended two teenage girls and a teenage boy following a burglary at a home in Woodland Thursday.
Lieutenant Anthony Cucchi of the Woodland Police Dept. said officers were dispatched to a home on the 1000 block of Bourn Ave. at approximately 10:15 a.m. after someone reported seeing an unknown person inside the home.
While en route, an additional call was received identifying several individuals committing a burglary at the home who then fled the scene in a van, said Cucchi.
An officer arrived at the scene just as the van was leaving the area. The officer waited for backup before performing a traffic stop, Cucchi said.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the individuals inside the van, a 16-year-old Hispanic girl, 15-year-old Hispanic girl and 15-year-old Hispanic boy were involved in the burglary and arrested at the scene, said Cucchi.
The teens were booked into Yolo County Juvenile Hall for burglary and conspiracy.
Authorities are investigating whether the youths were involved in any other burglaries.
