ELK GROVE, Calif. - A standoff occurred in an Elk Grove neighborhood following a man's reaction to his car being repossessed Friday morning, say police.
According to a Elk Grove Police officers on scene, a tow truck driver was in the process of repossessing the vehicle around 2:45 a.m. when the owner exited his home on the 9200 block of Mapleview Way and fired a shot into the air.
The tow truck driver fled the scene and the man returned to his home when officers arrived and a brief standoff ensued, said police.
The man eventually surrendered peacefully and was detained around 6 a.m.
A woman and teenage girl were also in the home but their relationship to the man was not made clear.
