SACRAMENTO, CA - A man accused of forcing himself sexually on his victims, one under the age of 10, has pled to several sex assault charges, says the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.
Anthony Eugene Martin, arrested in August, 2009, was charged with penetration of a child under 10 years of age, lewd and lascivious acts by force and false imprisonment for crimes in Auburn and Antelope. Among the incidents: the sexual assault of a young girl in an Auburn public bathroom in July, 2009.
In another incident that same July, Martin was seen on a security camera at Antelope Crossing Middle School running from campus after an attempted sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl, according to court records.
The prosecution said the suspect grabbed victims from behind in the attacks.
Martin was caught and arrested in Oregon in August, 2009. Police investigators documented that they found evidence linking him to the attacks in his home.
The D.A.'s office says Martin has a prior criminal record which included annoying or molesting a child under 18 and indecent exposure.
When he is sentenced Oct. 24, Martin could receive 21 years to life.
