FORESTHILL, CA - No one was hurt when shots were fired during a domestic dispute and police standoff in Foresthill Friday morning.
Suspect Earnest C. Larimer was arrested after Placer County sheriff's deputies disarmed him in the woods near Cedar Grove Mobile Home Park.
According to a news release from the sheriff's department, there was a physical altercation between Larimer and a woman at his home on Racetrack Drive. Neighbors called 911. The woman was able to leave the residence but Larimer stayed inside and fired a round from a shotgun before running into the woods where he fired two more rounds.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown and residents were warned to stay in their homes until deputies took Larimer into custody later Friday morning.
He was booked into Placer County Jail on allegations of domestic violence, making criminal threats, being a felon in possession of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm. Bond was set at $500,000.
