EL DORADO COUNTY, CA - Cal Fire crews have fully contained a grass fire in the area of Patterson Drive in Diamond Springs that destroyed one home and multiple structures Friday afternoon.
It wasn't clear yet what ignited the blaze.
5:55 p.m. Cal Fire: Fire 116 acres, 100 percent contained.
4:08 p.m. Cal Fire: Fire now 100 acres and 40 percent contained.
3:49 p.m. reporter George Warren: Appears retaining walls, fences and vinyl siding burned.
3:48 p.m.: Cal Fire: Forward progress of fire halted.
3:40 p.m. Cal Fire: 1 residence, mulitple structures destroyed. Fire 40 acres.
3:04 p.m. El Dorado Sheriffs Office: Evacuating Patterson Drive from Lake Oaks Senior Mobile Home Park to Lone Star Road. Evacuees can go to Fireman's Hall on China Grove Road in Diamond Springs.
2:58 p.m. Cal Fire: 30 structures threatened off of Patterson Drive in the Diamond Springs area, one to two structures damaged. There are advisory evacuations from the El Dorado Sheriff's Office for Lake Oaks Senior Mobile Home Park, 4280 Patterson Dr, Diamond Springs.
2:43 p.m. Cal Fire: Fire now 50 acres, burning southwest of Diamond Springs.
2:40 p.m. Cal Fire: Structures are burning, type undetermined.
El Dorado County Office of Education says parents should pick up their children as usual from Charles Brown School but there is a bus on standby as a precaution. The fire is moving away from the school. The office will post updates on its website.
2:22 p.m. Cal Fire: Fire now 10 acres off Koki Lane and Pleasant Valley Road.
Cal Fire's Teri Mitzuhara said Union Mine High School on Koki Lane was not threatened. The fire was burning behind the high school which is in session.
Cal Fire deployed aircraft to attack the flames.
