Gruesome details of the crime scene involving the mother and brother of a California alleged kidnap victim have just been released.

Search warrant details released by the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press indicate that the mother and brother of Hannah Anderson, 16, were tortured before they were killed.

Anderson, of San Diego County, Calif., was abducted by family friend James DiMaggio, 40, and taken away into the Idaho wilderness before FBI agents shot and killed him in the Idaho wilderness on Saturday.

When authorities responded to a fire at DiMaggio's home, where he'd left Christina Anderson and Hannah's 8-year-old brother, Ethan, tied up, they found a crowbar near the mother's body and blood near her head. Ethan's body was found burned and the family dog found shot to death.

Investigators found Ethan's body when they sifted through rubble, the Associated Press reported.

DiMaggio's death was the climax of a six-day search for Hannah that stretched into parts of Canada and Mexico.

In a news release made public Tuesday, the office of San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore emphasized that Hannah "was not a willing participant" in any part of what the statement termed a "horrific crime."

The statement also asked the public to give Hannah and her family time and space to grieve.
