We started Tell10 to give our viewers a voice on News10. It's a way for viewers to question, comment, criticize or praise anything they see in our newscasts. They've always been able to do that, but Tell10 is more personal and real, because we hear the passion in viewers' voices, as they leave messages on the Tell10 line. I've never seen a weekly segment become so popular, so fast. Every day, viewers leave thoughtful and provocative comments about stories we've cover, and sometimes challenge us on the way we reported a particular story. I'll spend a moment to explain, defend or even apologize as necessary.

I listen to every single Tell10 message, and that can be a hundred a week, or more. That experience alone has become a great way for me to understand how you're reacting to our newscasts, and even the performance of myself and other News10 anchors and reporters. I try to include your reaction, comments or questions on four or five different subjects in each weekly Tell10 segment. The piece usually begins with your reaction to some of the major news events of the week. But by the end of the segment, we're usually trying to have a little fun with your comments about anything from my hair, to Monica's accent, or throwing bed sheets into a freezer to find out if that really was a ridiculous suggestion for beating the heat.

I'll apologize in advance for not being able to put more of your great comments on the air. But News10 management has already asked me to start producing some Tell10 Extras, which will include more of your comments on a single subject, and run during the week, in addition to the regular Friday Tell10 segment. So when you see something in our newscasts that makes you want to Tell10 what's on your mind, pick up the phone and give us a call 24/7 at 916-321-3232.
