Raley Field, Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The day local soccer fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Live, top-quality professional soccer will be played at Raley Field in West Sacramento Thursday night.

In the first of two matches, a team comprised of local All Stars will take on the San Jose Earthquakes reserve squad. The matchup should be an entertaining one, as the local players have a fantastic opportunity to showcase their abilities before onlooking MLS and international scouts.

The second match of the evening features Norwich City F.C. of the English Premier League against Dorados de Sinaloa of Mexico.

Both Norwich and Dorados have brought squads filled with first team players, so the expected sell-out crowd should be treated to some quality football and an interesting interplay of contrasting styles.

Norwich is expected to feature new signings Martin Olsson and Ricky Van Wolfswinkle, along with England international and recent Chelsea goalkeeping target John Ruddy.

The Canaries finished in 11th place in the EPL under Manager Chris Hughton last season, beating Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City in the process.

The main point of the evening however, will be the official unveiling of the name and colors of Sacramento's new USLPro squad, both of which were decided by fans in an online contest.

The festivities kick off at 5 p.m.

Tickets are available online or at the Raley Field box office.  The event is expected to sell out, and fans have been advised to purchase tickets in advance.
