WOODLAND, Calif. - A 12-year-old girl's quick thinking helped lead to the capture of a man she says exposed himself to her in Woodland Thursday.
According to Sergeant Jason Brooks of the Woodland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of California St. at 5:12 p.m. following a report of a man who exposed himself to the girl and her friend.
The girl told arriving officers that the man got her attention as she walked by his gold vehicle and then exposed himself to her before fleeing. However, the girl managed to obtain the license number of the vehicle at some point during the encounter, said Brooks.
Brooks said the incident was similar to other reports received of a person in a gold vehicle exposing himself.
Officers obtained the contact information associated with the license plate number and had an outside agency contact the registered owner to request a call back. When police received a return call, an officer expressed the need to speak with the driver of the car who called police within a matter of minutes. The driver, 22-year-old Davis resident Quang Huy Vo, agreed to meet the officer in Woodland where, after a field interview, he was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail on $10,000 bail, said Brooks.
Anyone with additional information on the incident was encouraged to contact the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411.
