TULARE, Calif. - A fatal collision involving a motorcyclist forced the closure of both northbound lanes of Highway 99 in Tulare Wednesday morning.
A release issued by the California Highway Patrol stated the crash occurred north of Prosperity Ave. around 5:41 a.m. The highway was closed due to cleanup and inspection efforts shortly thereafter.
The CHP did not confirm whether the motorcyclist was the individual killed in the wreck.
Drivers are being diverted off Highway 99 at the Prosperity Ave. exit and directed northbound on Hilman St., then westbound on Cartmill Ave. back to Highway 99.
The highway was reopened as of 7:30 a.m..
