SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was shot in a commercial area of North Sacramento Friday night.

Four people inside of a vehicle were traveling down the 100 block Bell Avenue around 7:50 p.m. when they were confronted by a group of men wearing white t-shirts, Sacramento police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said.

The group then started shooting at the vehicle. Pettit said a man in his 20s was shot multiple times. The driver then drove away from the scene and around the corner to a supermarket on Jesse and Norwood avenues. The fire department got the emergency call from the supermarket.

The passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Pettit said the shooting is gang related. No one is custody because the suspect ran from the scene after the shooting.
