Ever-controversial and often criticized Luis Suarez has been suspended for 10 games for his latest on-the-field incident involving his teeth and another player's skin, per the Barclay's Premier League website.
During Sunday's match against Chelsea, the Liverpool and Uruguay striker grabbed the arm of Blues defender Branislav Ivanovic and took a bite. Suarez then, as he is known to do, feigned an injury of his own when Ivanovic reported the incident to the referee.
Neither the referee or his assistant saw the incident, but plenty of cameras filming the match captured Suarez' teeth sinking into Ivanovic's flesh.
It was initially believed Suarez would receive the standard 3-match ban for violent conduct, but a three-man independent panel ruled the regular suspension of three games was insufficient in this case.
Sunday's chomp was not the first time Suarez was busted for biting. While playing with PSV in Holland, the controversial striker received a 7-match ban for a similar offense.
He was also suspended for eight games in December 2011 for making racist insults about Patrice Evra of Manchester United during a game.
Suarez has until Friday to appeal the ruling.
