SACRAMENTO, CA - If you recognize the man depicted in this police drawing, you're asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. The man tried to rape a woman as she jogged on the American River Parkway equestrian trail last month, authorities say.
The attack took place on March 26 at about 11 a.m. as the woman ran between Watt and Howe avenues, said sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos. She was grabbed from behind by a man and forced to the ground. She told deputies the man tried to further assault her but her screaming for help sent him fleeing.
The assailant was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a slim build. He had a scruffy, blond beard and a moustache.
At the time of the attack he wore a long-sleeved, olive green t-shirt, and black and gray pants. He had on a red baseball cap and sunglasses.
The woman reported he rode away on black mountain bike with white detailing.
