SACRAMENTO, CA - Traffic was bunched up on eastbound Highway 50 near Watt Avenue after a collision involving three vehicles Monday afternoon.
All lanes were blocked, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Bradley.
One of the involved vehicles, a pick-up truck overturned on the highway while a silver Toyota 4-Runner SUV was stopped in the far left lane and a Caltrans truck ended up in the center divide.
Two people in the SUV suffered moderate to severe injuries and were transported to a hospital, according to the CHP. A person in the pick-up was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The CHP says the SUV ran into the Caltrans truck. The Caltrans employee was doing work on the highway. He was shaken up but otherwise unhurt.
It wasn't clear how the pick-upt truck became involved.
All lanes were reopened just before 3 p.m. The crash was first reported just before 1:30 p.m.
