NATOMAS, Calif. - Natomas Park Elementary School issued an alert Wednesday afternoon after a child was approached by a stranger while walking home from school Wednesday.
A release issued to parents by Natomas Park Elementary principal Kendra Shelton stated a student was walking home on North Bend Drive around 2 p.m. when he was approached by a stranger who asked if he wanted some candy. The man then drove away in a turquoise blue sedan.
No identifying information was provided on the driver.
The parents of the student were contacted, as were police who began a search for the vehicle.
The child was not harmed during the incident.
Anyone with information on the encounter is encouraged to contact police.
