What causes sinkholes?
A freakish sinkhole that suddenly swallowed a Florida man is a rare occurrence. But sinkholes, which usually evolve over a longer period of time, are a fairly common experience in the U.S. Here are some of the major factors that contribute to sinkhole formation.
