YUBA COUNTY, CA - A woman behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang that crashed in Yuba County last November, killing her passenger, an off-duty Sutter County sheriff's deputy, was sentenced to one year in jail Monday.
Erin Marie Jasper must also serve five years probation upon her release and refrain from consuming alcohol as part of the sentence.
She previously pled guilty to one count of felony vehicular manslaughter in the Nov. 7 crash. Deputy Rory Roguski, 25, died when the Mustang slammed into a wall on Highway 20.
Two drunk-driving related charges against Jasper were dropped.
