SACRAMENTO, CA - The grandfather of a Roseville toddler who died in his home last April entered a guilty plea Friday to possession of child pornography.

Daniel Harrison McGrath, 58, admitted to police investigating the April 4, 2012 death of McKinley Wilder that he had images of child pornography on his computers, according to federal court records. A warranted search of McGrath's disconnected computer hard drive and compact discs he made uncovered more than 3,000 images and videos of children and infants in sexually explicit, sadistic and masochistic context, said the U.S. Attorney's Office.

McGrath's daughter, Denise Wilder, has been charged with child cruelty caused by abuse, neglect or endangerment in connection with her daughter's death. The Placer County coroner determined McKinley died from alcohol poisoning and acute malnutrition. Wilder, McKinley and another daughter had been staying at McGrath's home when McKinley died. McGrath and his wife were out of the country at the time.

McGrath could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison and be ordered to pay a $250,000 fine at his sentencing date, said U.S. Attorney spokeswoman Lauren Horwood.
