PHOENIX, AZ - Bartolo Colon wants forgiveness from his Oakland Athletics teammates for his 50-game suspension last season after failing a drug test.
The 39-year-old right-hander knows the best way to get it is by getting back in top form on the mound.
Colon is back with his Oakland teammates for the opening days of spring training. The Dominican veteran doesn't plan to make a group apology to the teammates who lost his services in the middle of a pennant race after his positive testosterone test.
Colon says he knew he had failed the test for six weeks before the suspension came down. He still must serve the last five games this season, costing him a turn in the rotation.
The A's re-signed Colon despite his troubles, even giving him a raise.
