Liana Kotsura, 18, of Sacramento killed in rollover in Natomas.

NATOMAS, Calif. -  The teenager killed in a violent wreck at the Interstate 80 - Interstate 5 interchange in the Natomas area Sunday night was identified as an 18-year-old Sacramento resident.

According to Officer Liz Dutton with the California Highway Patrol, the driver, 18-year-old Vladimir Sushinskiy was transitioning from eastbound I-80 to southbound I-5 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 1998 Acura and veered off the road.

The Acura went up an embankment and rolled, going over a guardrail bordering the westbound I-80 and southbound I-5 lanes before coming to a rest on its roof.

Emergency response teams arrived just after 11:12 p.m. The passenger in the left rear seat, later identified as Liana Kotsura, was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the car, said Dutton. Kotsura was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported Sushinskiy to Mercy San Juan hospital with moderate injuries.

The passenger in the front right seat, David Tkachuk, 18, and a 17-year-old girl in the rear right seat, were transported to UC Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries.

On Monday, the CHP said Sushinskiy had been arrested but that was not the case. Dutton said Tuesday when Sushinsky is arrested, he will  face a manslaughter charge.

According to Dutton, Sushinskiy had a clean driving record prior to the incident.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were a contributing factor, said Dutton.
