Valentine's Day is fast approaching and whether you're hitched, newly ditched, dating or single by choice Downtown has something that will tickle your fancy.

1. Downtown & Vine | 1200 K Street #8
Enjoy a taste of Wine Country without leaving the grid. Downtown & Vine, Downtown's newest wine tasting room, brings 12 wineries, from 4 wine regions to one downtown urban location. Downtown & Vine hosts a wine tasting series every other Thursday. On Valentine's Day the series, entitled "Hearts, Flowers, and...Bubbles", will be tasting through some very special Iron Horse Vineyards sparkling wine. The tasting session on February 14 is $20 per person and begins promptly at 6:00 pm. RSVP at 916.228.4518.

2. Pilot House | 1000 Front Street
Sick of eating at restaurants on land? Then try it over water while aboard the Delta King! Do something different and spend a romantic Valentine's dinner at the Pilot House. Enjoy their Valentine's Dinner Menu, which features three courses including your choice of Filet Mignon, Day Boat Scallops, Portobello Mushroom Ravioli or Apple Wood Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin. The night doesn't have to end after dinner, you can spend the night in one of the Delta King's romantic Staterooms.

3. Art Mix, Crocker Art Museum | 216 O Street
Show Sacramento some love at this month's celebration of local creativity, presented in collaboration with the Sacramento Arts and Business Council. Enjoy live musical installations, and demonstrations by Flywheel Arts Incubator's 2012 creatives including New Helvetia Theater, Sol Collective, Lacin/Cristophel Mural Design, Tapigami, and more. No need to call a babysitter, Creative Care is available for parents and caregivers attending this Art Mix. Art Mix is from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is free with Museum admission.

4. Grange Restaurant | 926 J Street
Dinner with a side of spice. The Grange Restaurant, inside the Citizen Hotel, will be delighting palates with a three-course Valentine dinner with your choice of Grilled Filet of Dry Aged Beef, California Seabass, or Kabocha Squash Panade. The menu is available February 14, 15, and 16 for $75 per person. If you are feeling lucky, the Citizen is offering both a "naughty" and a "nice" hotel package both equipped with romantic goodies including a Kama Sutra Weekender Kit and a Naughty Love box full of surprises.

Newly Ditched:

5. Bulls | 1330 H Street
Time to get back on the horse...well the bull in this case. Drown those sorrows at Bulls with Thursday Night's Bikini Bull Riding Contest. Bulls will have drink specials all night and you may have a chance to find a gal to bring home to mom.

6. Esquire IMAX Theatre | 1211 K Street
Skip Valentine's Day all together and go watch A Good Day to Die Hard. Released on February 14, the latest Die Hard installment gives you a good excuse to bypass the holiday all together while you spend some quality time with John McClane.

7. Downtown Dive Bar Crawl
Some of Downtown's best-kept secrets come in the form of dive bars. In lieu of the normal Valentine's Day, organize a 'Dive Crawl' with your friends. A perfect start would be the Chambers Room at 701 J Street, followed by a stop at Henry's Lounge 1117 9th Street. From there, it is a short walk to the Pre-Flite Lounge at 513 L Street and then end the night at Old Sacramento's famous Back Door Lounge at 1112 Firehouse Alley.

Singles ready to mingle:

8. District 30 | 1022 K Street
Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez (Let the good times roll) at District 30 as the club is transformed into Bourbon Street New Orleans for a 4 day Mardi Gras party! With over $10,000 in props and décor, District 30 will transport you to the Big Easy, featuring 'real' Louisiana Hurricanes and the Verdugo Brothers on Valentine's Day. Tickets are $10.

9. Tequila Museo Mayahuel | 1200 K Street
Find love over Tequila! Tequila Museo Mayahuel is Downtown's number one spot for a full tequila experience. Enjoy tequila-tasting flights that showcase the different aromas, flavors, and textures produced by the agave cultivation. Each tasting consists of three half-ounce pours. A special Valentine's Day theme cocktail will also be featured at Mayahuel. The menu is not yet confirmed, but I've heard rumors about a Valentine's Sangria or a Red Fruit Tequila Fusion.

10. The Scandal Bar, Citizen Hotel | 926 J Street
Who doesn't love a scandal? Back by popular demand, the Scandal Bar at the Citizen Hotel will be open to the public for one special evening every month. The Scandal Series No 1. will debut on Valentine's Day for All Things Love, featuring love-inspired libation by Grange and music by the Speakeasy Syndicate. And, don't forget about the previously mentioned Citizen Hotel Packages.

11. Laughs Unlimited | 1207 Front Street
Studies show that a sense of humor is sexually attractive. Show your date that you appreciate a good laugh at Laughs Unlimited Valentine's Day Dinner and Comedy Show. This special event features one of the region's funniest comedic talents Sean Peabody. The menu consists of Carved Roast Beef, Chicken Cordon Blue, Green Salad, Sautéed Veggies, Potatoes Au Gratin, Rice Pilaf and Dinner Rolls. 12. Cafeteria 15L
Enjoy some Downtown Home Cookin' with your lover at Cafeteria 15L. Their prix-fix Valentine's day menu kicks off with your choice of Crab Cakes or Truffled Ravioli, an entrée of pan seared halibut or gilled hanger steak, and finishes with a vanilla bean crème brulee or chocolate decadence. $70 per couple includes Champagne toast.

13. Crest Theatre | 1013 K Street
Make a night of it. After dinner in the Kay district, enjoy a movie at the historic Crest Theatre. Now playing Academy Award Nominees, Argo and Silver Linings Playbook. Click here for show times.

14. Bloom Décor and G. Rossi Florist
Set the proper tone with flowers. Valentine's Day is nearly synonymous with gorgeous floral arrangements, and Downtown has some wickedly creative florists. Bloom Décor on 1016 10th Street and G. Rossi Florist at 1011 7th Street will instantly add some romance to the 14th regardless of how you decide to celebrate.
