CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Smash and grab heist at Stockton jewelry store

STOCKTON, CA - Individuals rammed a stolen SUV into a Stockton jewelry store early Tuesday morning to gain entrance before stealing several pieces of jewelry, according to Stockton police.

Video from the targeted Kay Jewelers on the 10600 block of Trinity Parkway shows the SUV slammed into a metal gate in front of the store entrance and four individuals in hooded jackets going in. Police spokesman Officer Joe Silva said the burglars used hammers to shatter display cases.

The time was Tuesday, 3:30 a.m. 

Images show one of the individuals as being a light-skinned man or teen with short, dark hair and sideburns. He wore a light-colored jacket with a red hood and red on the sleeves and shorts.

Another participant wore a dark, hooded jacket with a wide, light-colored plaid pattern and a possibly matching scarf.

Callers with information about the burglary were urged to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377, the Investigations Unit at (209) 937-8323, or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600. Callers can remain anonymous.

Citizens may also text information from their cell phones to 'CRIMES' (274637) and type the keyword TIPSPD and then their tip or log on to the Stockton Police Department's Facebook page and click 'Submit A Tip'. For any information that may lead to an arrest in any of these cases, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000.
