SACRAMENTO -  So you want to go to the Super Bowl and we're just three days away from kickoff.  Well you've got to be one of the biggest procrastinators in the world if you are planning a trip this late in the game, but let's just entertain the idea of how much it could cost you.

If you go to stubhub.com, you will find that there are some tickets available.  The cheapest pair goes for about $1350.  And then if you want to bring in a group into one of the executive suites, well that will run you $137,500.

And then of course there is the airfare.  News10 spoke with a travel agent at length about this yesterday and had her look into some hypothetical scenarios. The agent, who chose to remain anonymous, said when she took a look at what was available, the packages were sold out. That would be if you wanted to buy the airfare along with the hotel together.

The ticket quoted had us taking the red-eye at 10:45 p.m. Friday for the bargain round-trip price of about $1900.

There was another ticket available for flying in Saturday to New Orleans coach and first class on the way back Monday. That ticket was $4458.

Forgetting something?  The hotel stay of course.  Good luck with that one. You can go cheap and stay at the Days Inn for $450 a night (normally those are under $100). Or you could stay at the Holiday Inn in the French Quarter for $1500 per night.  A regular room closer to the stadium in a nicer hotel can easily run you $2700 a night.

Bottom line is this, you better have a good chunk in your bank account or a lot of credit if you want to go.
