MARLEEVILLE, CA - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 struck 32 miles southeast of South Lake Tahoe Thursday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The closest town to the 3:25 p.m. temblor is Markleeville, 13 miles southeast.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
