MODESTO, CA - A Modesto woman disappears two weeks before Christmas and the man she was last seen with turns up weeks later in a North Carolina jail.
Eldoris Graham, 28, last phone call was to her mother on Dec. 13.
"'Go ahead.' 'Hey mommy, this is me. We decided to get away. We're both stressed out. We're out in the Bay. So give me a call when you get this,'" Graham told her mother Christine Patterson in a voicemail.
When Patterson listens to the voice message she senses her daughter was forced to make the call and possibly coached by the voice in the beginning that said, "Go ahead." Patterson returned her daughter's call, but was given few details before she hung up.
"She couldn't talk. She said she had to go," Patterson said.
That was the last time anyone heard from Graham. When she didn't show up for her shift at the Salida Burger King two days later, her mother called the police. Her friends and coworkers at her jobs in Burger King and D.D's Discounts also suspect something terrible happened to her.

"It was weird not to hear from her in four days," Graham's best friend Christine Perry said. "She was a work horse. She wouldn't just not show up to work."
Modesto police did finally find Graham's live-in boyfriend. Anthony Coxum, 36, was arrested on Dec. 27 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Coxum was picked up for a probation violation., while he was driving Graham's car.
"Her car is found in North Carolina, but she's nowhere to be seen. She hasn't been heard of," Patterson said.
Coxum allegedly told police, he dropped Graham off in Oakland. A story her best friend doesn't believe.
"She's never even been to the Bay Area," Perry said. "I was going to take her to San Francisco for New Year's, because she's never been there. So she doesn't know her way around and she doesn't know anybody."
Patterson doesn't want North Carolina authorities to release Coxum until he cooperates with Modesto Police.
"I want to know what happened to my child. Is she alive? What did Mr. Coxum do to her?" Patterson said.
Police have not named Coxum a suspect in her disappearance.
