Mom, daughter sentenced after pleading guilty to sex trafficking

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A mother and her daughter were sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two counts of sex trafficking minors.

The mother, Tammy Rena Brown, 45, pleaded guilty to concealing a felony; her home was for at least one sexual encounter with a victim.

The daughter, Latrelle Alicia Hornbuckle, 24, pleaded guilty to tampering with a witness; Hornbuckle told a victim to lie about knowing the rest of the family involved in the prostitution or to say nothing.

Hornbuckle and Brown were two of six people who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking minors in May, said Lauren Horwood, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of California.

Hornbuckle's two sisters - Tynisha Marie Hornbuckle and Tamrell Rena Hornbuckle- were sentenced to federal prison in October for their involvement in the underage prostitution ring.

Hornbuckle's other sister Cherrelle Elizabeth Hornbuckle and another woman Jacqueline Lanoise Radisha Wade, also pleaded guilty to underage prostitution and await sentencing.

The court record said two of the underage victims testified how they were beaten while working for the Hornbuckles. They were also tattooed with the name "Hornbuckle."

Hornbuckle was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison and Brown was sentenced to three years in prison.
