SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A man could face 20 years in prison after being convicted of beating and threatening his girlfriend.

Jorge Cabrales was convicted of felony domestic violence after breaking his girlfriend's nose during a fight, said Sacramento County District Attorney spokesperson Shelly Orio.

Court documents show that Cabrales then threatened the victim several times after finding out that she had contacted police to report the incident.

According to Orio, Cabrales now faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for felony domestic violence, causing great bodily injury, witness intimidation and criminal threats.

The sentencing case is set for Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Sacramento County Court.
