Woman arrested in N. Carolina in connection with Modesto triple homicide

MODESTO, CA - A woman suspected of being connected with a triple homicide in Modesto on March 3 was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday.

According to Officer Scott Nelson with the Modesto Police Department, Abbygail Castillo was wanted for harboring or concealing a felon following the murder of 19-year-old Alyxandra Tellez, 31-year-old Edward Joseph Reinig, and 16-year-old David Siebels at a home on the 700 block of N. McClure Road. An 18-year-old girl who hid in the home during the incident, was able to call 911 to report the incident.

Castillo turned herself in to the Greenville Police Department on Wednesday after receiving pressure from friends and family to do so, said Nelson.

She was booked into the Pitt County Detention center from where she will be extradited back to California.

Modesto detectives are still asking for the public's assistance in identifying a "person of interest" who may have information on the triple homicide in March. The woman in the accompanying black-and-white picture was seen near an apartment at 1757 Richland Ave. in Ceres where an 18-year-old woman was allegedly held against her will and assaulted for several days, Nelson said. The victim's boyfriend, Richard Garibay, 31, and his friend Armando Oseguda, 30, were later arrested by Ceres Police in connection with the incident.
