WOODLAND, CA - A 31-year-old woman was the victim of an alleged attempted kidnapping on Sunday afternoon.

According to Corporal Dave Krause of the Woodland Police Department, the woman was walking between two parked vehicles in the Westgate shopping Center lot around 3:35 p.m. when a man in a pickup truck allegedly opened his door and blocked her path.

The man then grabbed the victim by her hair and tugged her towards his car, Krause said. As the victim was being pulled to the pickup truck, she yelled for help and a bystander rushed over.

Krause said the suspect let go of the woman's hair and fled eastbound on West Main St.

The woman was not injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as an Hispanic man in his late 30's with a large build, dark hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, green sweatpants and no shoes. His vehicle was described as a white compact, 1990's model pickup truck.

Woodland police encouraged anyone with information to contact their dispatch at (530) 666-2411.
