SACRAMENTO, CA - Twenty-nine-year-old Julius Williams was listed in fair condition Thursday afternoon after suffering stab wounds in an attack at his family's apartment Wednesday.
Williams, his father Morri,s and brother David, 22, were all stabbed as a group of men burst into the home swinging baseball bats and metal rods and brandishing knives. His mother, Mary Williams, was hit in the head with a bat.
The incident occurred around 6:30 Wednesday evening at the Oakhillow Apartments in the 4000-block of Oakhollow Drive in Foothill Farms.
"It was crazy. I was scared, scared. Don't know what to think, don't know what to do. Just so fast, everything happened so fast," said family member Ziannanna Williams.
Williams says she and a few other relatives were in a back room of the apartment while her parents and two brothers were in the living room preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. The next things she remembers were the sounds of chaos.
"They just opened the door, and I just heard noise, like talking first, and then just started boom, boom, boom ... people swinging, hitting stuff," Williams said.
She said at least three men with bats and metal rods attacked her family.
"When I went to the living room, my little brother was on the floor. My mom and my dad was trying to push them out the house ... the guys out the house, and my dad was swinging and everything. "
Williams said she doesn't know who the men were and that her father kept screaming they had the wrong house.
"Come to find out my dad, my two brothers were stabbed, and my mom, she was hit in the head. It was just crazy, ridiculous. I didn't expect nothing to happen like this before Thanksgiving," Williams said."
Thursday, however, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department indicated in an email the department "has no reason to believe this was the 'wrong' apartment."
Sgt. Jason Ramos stated: "We believe some recent history between the victims and suspects led to what happened."
The investigation by sheriff's detectives is focusing on a possible link.
Attempts to determine the conditions of the other family members were unsuccessful Thursday.
