SACRAMENTO - One pedestrian is dead and another is in hospital after being hit by a Light Rail train in midtown Sacramento Friday morning.
Officer Rich Wetzel of the California Highway Patrol said emergency responders were dispatched to the area of 19th Street and S Street around 5:35 a.m. following the initial report of the incident.
19th Street between R St. and Q St. was blocked off while Sacramento police and fire personnel investigated the scene.
One of the individuals was declared dead at the scene. The other was transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.
No information was provided on how the incident occurred.
