FAIRFIELD, CA - A substitute teacher was arrested after reportedly assaulting four 6 and 7-year-old students while working at David Weir Elementary on Oct. 18.

According to Fairfield police Sgt. Randy Boggs, three boys and a girl told their parents that their sub Joe Yow grabbed them by their necks and escorted them to their classroom for misbehaving twice in one day.

Boggs said Yow later forcefully grabbed the girl by the throat and directed her into the classroom from the hallway where he had the children lined up.

After the victim's parents contacted the police, they interviewed Yow, arrested at his Suisun City home and booked him on four counts of battery on a child.

Yow was later released on bail; however, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District is now investigating the matter further.

None of the students were injured from the assault, Boggs said.
