ARDEN, CA - A man is dead after getting shot in the buttocks Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 9:07 p.m. near a Motel 6 on the 2000 block Arden Way, Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos said.

According to Ramos, a motel security guard said he heard a gunshot and advised another employee to call for help.  The guard then walked the motel and found the 24-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from a single gunshot wound to the buttock.

Paramedics arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, said Ramos.

The preliminary investigation into the shooting did not return any leads on suspects or motives, and no witnesses were located, Ramos said.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115, Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP, or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES) followed by the tip information.
