LODI, CA - A multiple-vehicle pileup resulted in at least one fatality and closed the westbound direction of Highway 12 near the Interstate 5 interchange just before 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
A California Highway Patrol report stated the collision involved five vehicles, including two semi-trucks and a truck hauling construction equpment.
CHP officers said the driver of the truck hauling the construction equipment was weaving in and out of traffic when he struck a semi-truck head-on and was killed instantly.
Highway 12 from Interstate 5 to Highway 160 was reopened at 1:30 p.m.
