Police: 2 in custody after Stockton shooting and high-speed chase

STOCKTON, CA - Two people were taken into custody by Stockton police after allegedly shooting a person on Sunday.

According to Officer Joseph Silva, the shooting was at 1st Street and S. Grant Street at 5:38 p.m.

Shortly after the shooting, officers in the area spotted a vehicle believed connected to the shooting and attempted to make a vehicle stop.

The driver then initiated a high-speed chase across town before pulling over into a Wienerschnitzel parking lot near Highway 99 and E. Hammer Lane, said Silva.

Officers took two people into custody.

The victim was said to be in critical condition.
